The Power of Greed

Have you ever had the opportunity to sit in a room with many people and just watch and hear what comes out of their mouths? Very similar to the fly on the wall concept. Somehow in that room of people, you are just not noticed and no one cares if you're sitting there or if you are absent. The people are so into what they are saying and making sure that you hear what they are saying. In other words they are controlling the floor. Sometimes this is a great advantage to just sit, listen, and really concentrate on what is happening in the spirit.

The natural realm is an interesting realm to watch but if anybody just stops for a second and observes, it's very easy to see what's going on. But the spirit realm is a whole other animal. It is not easily seen by the naked eye and it can involve many people and make them do the craziest things. Few will catch the spirit realm even if they're looking. Few even catch the natural realm which is in plain sight. I find a problem in today's world. No one is catching the influence of the spirit realm. Let's use the subject of money. T he bible says that money is the root of all evil. Could this really be true? I mean, I know the bible is truth, but is it really possible that money is the ROOT of all evil? Is it possible that money is the root to changing the heart? And I'm not talking about changing the heart to be more holy, I'm talking about changing the heart to be full of holes? I watch  money be such a powerful tool to the enemy. I used to think this is just something in the natural. You know...mammon. But I think this is something that's in the spirit world.

Let's use an example if we can, of one that has a lot of money and assets. And I'm sure all who are reading this knows someone that has much or you the reader might have great wealth yourself. Then this example will work real well for you to review who you are. The first problem I find with those that have great wealth is that they always judge those that don't. This is also true of the other side of the coin. Those without, are very judgmental of those that have. So we must be careful and keep the balances in tact. I have witnessed many that have much and it's not enough. This would be the word...greed. What really scares me is I'm seeing and watching greed or the spirit of greed be taught to millions on Christian television. This grieves my heart. It is labeled as the "Prosperity Gospel." It seems the simple teaching of "if you give God will out give you," thus the motive is "give to receive."

I'm in the midst of reading a book supposedly about God's Glory and yet it seems to talk more about the author's glory and how one can obtain God's glory for the mere enjoyment of greed. I see both sides of the pendulum swinging from the truth. I would say to the wealthy, How much do you really need? I would say to the poor, Why do you desire such wealth? Unfortunately, both sides of the pendulum would probably not give the correct answer into what their hearts motive truly is. So does this prove that money is the root of all evil? I mean, let's face it, those of great wealth have a hard time in giving to those that don't. I've seen many times, the wealthy whip out their checkbook and give to a ministry five thousand dollars. That's a lot of money. But if that giver has ten or twenty million dollars in cash and assets, how much are they really giving? Is this why the story of the widows mite?

In the book, "The Secrets of Enoch", Enoch makes a statement that is absolutely breathtaking and perplexing.  And I say perplexing because the thought that came to me was; Is this possible?  This is Enoch's statement:  "From the time when the Lord anointed me with the ointment of His Glory, there has been no food in me, and my soul remembers not earthly enjoyment, neither do I want anything earthly."  I almost weep every time I read that statement.  That statement always brings me to a state of repentance and how I view mammon, or money. It makes me hate money. Because my deepest desire is to soley count on the Lord for every need or desire that is in my body. And with reading that statement from Enoch, I realize how much I fall short of God's glory. Is this statement to say those that have much are far from God? Have you ever noticed when you get a little bit ahead financially you seem to hold on to the dollar just a tad bit more? It's almost like if you have nothing, you can give away all that you have. I have many who send me donations every single month who I know in the spirit have just a few beans to spare. And I know many who listen to my show will not contact me for fear of having to show some kind of financial support.

As I sit in many rooms, and unfortunately many of these rooms are in supposal spiritual houses(churches) I find the spirit of greed on the frontlines controlling individual, by individual. I sit in many rooms that are business based, and they do not talk or discuss customer service. What they do discuss is how to get the customers wallet. And not to sell them a quality product, but to transfer the funds from the customer to the business's bank account. And don't forget to give the customer your fake smile and slippery handshake. And as I witness all of this I realize the church has adopted the slimy business tactics of the world. Can you imagine if the Lord treated us the same way we are treated at one of these slimy businesses? No care, no compassion, just take your wallet and run? That reminds me of a robber.

It's very easy to see if you're eyes are open, and you have ears to hear, that the enemy is behind the power of greed. His demons are dressed up in white with shiny white shoes and a couple squirts of grease for the handshake. And unfortunately our churches are copying this same dress code. There is a way out of course, and that's to give. Just like the little lady with the widow's mite. She gave all that she had, and she gave it with joy. And I believe she never consulted her pastor. She just gave. She took the Nike slogan. She just did it. If you find yourself making excuses about your giving, you have first stage greed cancer. If you're angry at the end of this article, you have second stage greed cancer. You can get well. Give til it hurts. Give to someone enough to make them cry. That's called emotion. And you might want to pray about where to give. Maybe it's just to someone that needs, that's standing right in front of you in the grocery store. Greed is a power. Greed is a stepping stone to an alter that is built for lucifer. What is your choice, and what are you going to do about your heart? Greed is a disease of the heart. We must cleanse ourselves. And that includes me. Because we don't want to catch the cancer that kills. For the cancer that kills, is the power of greed.
